Hanabana-Sai
We collaborated with a flower artist Makoto Azuma in the creation and art direction for top Japanese department-store group Mitsukoshi Isetan’s spring campaign “Hanabana-Sai” (meaning “Flower Festival”). Based on a concept of a “celebration of life and being”, the festival features video and visual events created with colored powder, surging flowers and plants. The displays included installations of colored paper which dance and flow like the snowy flurry of cherry blossoms. Accumulating over a five week run, the fluttering storm is designed to be an ever-changing display.
